BENEFICIARIES

Spanish companies of any size; consortia for Misiones; startups for NEOTE

Obligations of the beneficiary.

·         Technical and financial compliance with the project

·         Monetize results (licenses, digital products)

·         Audit and detailed justification

·         Do No Significant Harm to the Environment (DNSH) Requirements

Common Mistakes / Risks.

·         Failure to clearly demonstrate the technological component (what makes the project innovative)

·         Underestimating technical costs and licensing fees

·         Do not include prior validation or prototypes

Practical tips.

·         Collaborate with research centers or universities (adds credibility)

·         Develop a clear timeline with understandable technological milestones

·         Demonstrate a clear plan for marketing and actual use of the product

·         Under the AGADIC – CT207A program (Production and Co-production), short films may be submitted provided that the rights are properly secured. Major points are awarded for filming in Galicia, using local services, and including new talent or women on the crew.

·         The AGADIC – CT207G (Filming in Galicia) grant is very practical because it is not awarded based on a points system but rather on a first-come, first-served basis, and it helps cover direct expenses related to filming in Galicia.

·         Short films are not usually accepted into the ICAA – Selectivas, except in specific cases involving projects of exceptional cultural value.

The most realistic option for these short films is CT207A (competitive) + CT207G (if they're shot here).

          Feature Films in Pre-Production

Now is the perfect time for them to seek development and production assistance

·         The AGADIC – CT207B (Development) grant covers things like scriptwriting, research, and seeking funding. If an applicant has already received funding for the same project, they cannot apply again for that same project, but they can move on to the next stage.

·         AGADIC – CT207A (Production) is the natural next step once you have a shooting schedule and a finalized budget.

·         At the state level, the ICAA – Selectivas is ideal for more auteur-driven projects or those with cultural significance, while the Generales are better suited for more commercial or industrial projects.

·         And if you have an international focus or European partners, that’s where MEDIA (Creative Europe) comes in, both for development and distribution.

If you have already received script assistance, the logical next step is to move on to Production (CT207A).

The other project could be eligible for both CT207B (if it is still in the scriptwriting phase) and CT207A, in addition to ICAA grants.

Feature film already completed

Here, the priority is no longer filming, but rather promoting it, distributing it, and bringing it to life at film festivals

·         The AGADIC – CT404D (Promotion and Outreach) grant can be used to cover travel, accreditation, and promotional materials for festivals and markets.

·         The ICAA – International Festivals provides direct support when a film is selected: it covers copies, subtitles, travel expenses, etc.

·         If a sales agency is involved, you can also request assistance from the ICAA – International Distribution

·         And if it catches the eye of an interested European distributor, the MEDIA – Films on the Move program would be the icing on the cake.

The clearest option here is CT404D + ICAA Festivals. If an agency is listed, then also Distribution and, hopefully, MEDIA.
