PURPOSE
.Support production—that is, turn the approved project into a tangible work: filming, post-production, and final delivery.
AMOUNT OF THE GRANT
Competitive call for proposals based on points. Estimated funding for 2026: €3,500,000.
🎬 “Difficult” Projects and Maximum Percentage of Funding
In some cases, public assistance may be higher than usual:
- Short films→ up to 85%.
- Debut feature films(directors with ≤2 previous feature films and a budget of ≤1.5 M€) → up to 80%.
- Original version in Galician→ up to 80%.
- Driving with a disability of ≥33%→ up to 80%.
- Directed exclusively by women→ up to 75%.
- Documentaries for the big screen→ up to 75%.
- Animation ≤2.5 M€→ up to 75%.
- Co-productions with Ibero-American countries→ up to 60%.
Deadline for completion / justification.
The project is carried out according to the submitted schedule. The administration issues a decision within a few months and requires justification for all phases (filming, post-production). Any significant deviations must be approved.
ELIGIBLE EXPENSES
- Technical and Artistic Staff
- Equipment, camera, sound, and lighting rentals
- Locations and Permits
- Transportation, lodging, and catering during filming
- Post-production: editing, color correction, final sound mix
- Related services (special effects, dubbing, VFX)
- Overhead expenses up to a permitted percentage
BENEFICIARIES
Production companies that hold the rights to the screenplay/work and hold at least a 20% equity stake (or 10% in broad international co-productions). Companies whose participation is purely financial, without contributing creative content, are not eligible.
Obligations of the beneficiary.
- Strictly adhere to the specifications approved in the production sheet
- Provide supporting documentation for each expense
- Include institutional credits and logos in the work
- Deliver the goods in accordance with the agreed-upon terms and conditions
Common Mistakes / Risks.
- Excessive deviations from the budget without prior justification
- Inclusion of ineligible expenses
- Underestimation of significant technical costs
- Lack of contracts that guarantee rights

- Make the most of your time in Galicia and use local services.
- Include prior sales agreements or contracts with streaming platforms/streamers to reinforce viability.
- Develop a coherent international distribution plan.
