IG408H - INCENTIVES TO ATTRACT BUSINESSES TO GALICIA 2025

PURPOSE

To promote the implementation of business investment projects in Galicia, thereby fostering the growth and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.

AMOUNTS OF AID

Non-repayable grant with the following funding percentages:

 

    • Small businesses: 35%
    • Medium-sized companies: 25%

Exception for specific sectors (coal, steel, ferroalloys, transportation, and related infrastructure):

    •  Small businesses: 20%
    •  Medium-sized companies: 10%

Projects must fall into one of the following categories:

 

    • Business investment projects with a budget of between €800,000 and €10,000,000.
    • Investment projects starting at €100,000, provided they involve the creation of at least 25 full-time, permanent jobs (applicable only to categories 1 and 2).

ELIGIBLE EXPENSES

Funding will be provided for the following items:

A. Investment in fixed assets (tangible or intangible, always new):

      • Civil engineering and real estate investments related to the project.
      • Equipment and machinery, including specialized facilities, tooling (molds, templates, dies), internal transport equipment, and special-purpose vehicles.
      •  Other fixed assets, such as furniture, computer equipment used in production processes, and containers/packaging classified as fixed assets.
      • Computer applications directly linked to the production process.
      •  Acquisition of assets from an establishment in the process of closing, provided that the acquisition ensures its continued operation. 
 Note: Projects may not consist exclusively of civil engineering work or real estate investments.
 
 B. Labor Costs
 
      • Wages for newly created jobs may be subsidized for a period of 24 months.
      •  Through the beneficiary organization's own channels.
      • Through outsourcing at any of its facilities.
      • Online training is permitted provided it is conducted on a certified virtual learning platform.
ELIGIBLE PROJECTS:
 
Funding will be provided for business investment projects focused on:
 
1. Establishment of a new facility, whether it involves opening the first facility, setting up a new facility in a different location, or relocating while expanding production capacity.
2. Expansion of production capacity at an existing facility
3. Diversification of production through the introduction of new products at an existing facility. The investment must represent at least 200% of the net book value of the reused assets.
4. Fundamental transformation of the production process through the implementation of innovations in organization, production, and business management, including improvements in production systems and the integration of functional areas.

 

BENEFICIARIES

SMEs with at least one business location in the Autonomous Community of Galicia.

 

 

General Exclusions

    • Companies with debts that exceed the payment deadlines established in Law 3/2004 on late payments in commercial transactions (for grants exceeding €30,000).
    •  Sectors excluded under European regulations, such as:
        •  Production and marketing of primary agricultural products.
        •  Fisheries and aquaculture, pursuant to Regulation (EU) No. 1379/2013.
        • Energy production and distribution, and energy infrastructure.
        • Tobacco industry (manufacturing, processing, and marketing).
        • Fossil fuel sector (production, processing, transportation, and storage).

Non-Eligible Investments

    • Construction of training centers or residential facilities for at-risk groups.
    • Decommissioning or construction of nuclear power plants.
    • Projects aimed exclusively at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
    •  Airport infrastructure.

DEADLINES

APPLICATION PERIOD: From February 7, 2025, to September 30, 2025

IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: From the date of application until the deadline specified in the decision, up to 24 months (no later than March 31, 2028)

TYPE OF ASSISTANCE: On a first-come, first-served basis and with a COMPLETE APPLICATION
