PURPOSE
Grants to news and broadcasting companies that focus their reporting on
to encourage the defense of Galicia's identity.
AMOUNT OF THE GRANT

FEATURES
• Grants for media companies that publish print newspapers.
1. They must be included in the EGM General Media Study report or in the OJD Circulation Verification Office report
.
2. Media companies that, in the year prior to the call for applications, edit, publish, and distribute print newspapers
with the same title and consecutive issue numbers.
• Grants for private radio companies. (These must be included in the General Media Study report
prepared by the Association for Media Research (AIMC)
• Grants for digital newspapers. (Those that transmit and disseminate daily information via the Internet).
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Media companies that publish print newspapers and digital newspapers must ensure that at least 10% of their total content is in Galician.
2. Radio stations must use the Galician language for at least 50% of their programming time.
3. The companies commit to maintaining or increasing the use of the Galician language in broadcasts or opening segments
through December 31, 2026.
4. The companies must comply with the requirements established by the Royal Galician Academy.
5. In news reports written in Spanish, the language of the source’s statements or of the interviewee
must be respected, provided that the quotes are transcribed in direct speech.
ELIGIBLE INVESTMENT.
Eligible expenses are those related to the production and/or distribution of newspapers and radio stations that meet
the conditions set forth in the types of aid.
These expenses must be paid by May 31 of the year of the call for applications.
ACTIVITIES THAT ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR FUNDING.
a) Internal newsletters of institutions, publications of political parties, religious associations, or public entities
.
b) Publications that, during the year prior to the call for entries, included advertising that does not comply with
the provisions of Article 10 of Law 3/1983, of June 15, on linguistic standardization, regarding place names.
c) Radio stations with a sequential and repetitive programming model, whose broadcasts are
based on musical content.
d) Free print publications.
e) Social media, online video platforms, and equivalent information society services.
f) News agencies.
BENEFICIARIES
• Media companies that publish or broadcast news, programs, articles, reports,
contributions, or sections
• Companies that can demonstrate an average registered workforce of at least 5 employees and that produce and
broadcast all or part of their news content specifically within the territory of the Autonomous Community
.
EXCLUDED:
• Companies that broadcast via television signal.
• Entities without legal personality and/or that are nonprofit.
DEADLINES
APPLICATION DEADLINE: From April 22/2026 through May 14, 2026.
